Local support for #PickMitch grows with NFL Draft days away

MENTOR, OH (WOIO) - With just over three days left, there is a lot of buzz throughout northeast Ohio regarding the upcoming NFL Draft, especially in Mentor. Local clothing companies, an entire school district, and others are making the case to get the former Mentor High School quarterback on the roster. The Twitter hashtag, #PickMitch, was even started for the player.

The choice seems to be down to two players for the first pick of the Draft: defensive end Myles Garrett or local legend Mitch Trubisky. Browns front office personnel have still not concretely indicated who their first pick will be.

A lot of Browns fans seem to be mixed on who should be picked, but Trubisky's local roots and support are putting a lot of pressure on the Browns coaches to pick the local kid first.

One local clothing company has even designed a shirt for the incoming NFL quarterback.

The clothing company, Seventy-one North Clothing, wants to give the shirt to a Browns fan that is attending Thursday's NFL Draft in Philadelphia. That fan is expected to wear the shirt with pride.

There will also be a Draft Party hosted by Mentor High School Athletics on Thursday night.

The NFL Draft party will be held at Noah's Event Venue. The event starts at 7 p.m. with ticket prices set at $35 per person, which includes tailgate foods. The Draft will be broadcast on big screen televisions. There will also be raffles and auctions with the opportunity to win memoribilia autographed by Mitch.
