LORAIN COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - A 28-year-old Elyria man was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with two counts of endangering children and one count of abuse of harmful intoxicants.
Police were called to Michael Suzuki's apartment on Fox Hill Lane around 4 p.m. Monday, after his mother called police.
She told police in a report that she came home from work and found Suzuki's two children, a 1-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, alone in the living room. She went into Suzuki's bedroom and found him unconscious with a can of Air Duster next to him.
When officers arrived, Suzuki was still on the floor but awake. Police said he was confused and his pupils were dilated. He told police that he did huff from the Air Duster but didn't start until his mom came home so she could watch the kids.
He was taken to the Lorain County Jail and was arraigned Tuesday, where he pleaded not guilty. He was given a $3,000 recognizance personal bond and was released from jail.
He was ordered per condition of the bond to have no contact with his children unless another adult is present, comply with orders from the Lorain County Children's Service, not abuse substances, and seek treatment immediately.
Lorain County Children's Services were all called, according to the report.
