Arraignment for Broadview Heights suspect accused of sharing, producing child porn

BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - The Broadview Heights man accused of sharing a creating child pornography appeared in a Cuyahoga County courtroom Wednesday morning for arraignment.

Robert Arias, 53, was arrested on April 14 at his apartment on Seneca Avenue in Broadview Heights. The Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding an individual uploading child pornography.

After investigating, Arias was found in possession of hundreds of child porn images. including children under 2-years-old. The County Prosecutor's Office also said Arias took and shared nude photographs of a 7-year-old boy that lived in his apartment.

During his arraignment, Arias entered a not guilty plea. The judge ordered that Arias is held on a $100,000 bond.

Arias was arrested in 2006 for sharing child pornography. After that arrest, he became a registered sex offender.

His next court appearance is scheduled for May 1.
