CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

From Meteorologist Samantha Roberts:

Short Term Forecast:

Good morning! The heat returns in full force today. Expect highs around 90° this afternoon. Humidity levels will be tropical once again.

We’ll begin the day on a quiet and dry note, but scattered showers and storms will develop through the afternoon. Storms could begin to pop up as soon as 1:00 PM but are more likely in Cleveland around 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM.

Some storms may be strong to severe. The main threats will be damaging wind and heavy rain.

Storms will wind down area-wide around 10:00 PM, as we lose our daytime heating and instability.

Calm End To The Work Week:

We’ve gone ahead and removed Friday’s rain chance. At this time, Friday is looking dry. It will, however, be very warm and humid. Highs will climb into the mid to upper 80s.

Weekend Outlook:

The heat and humidity will be with us through the weekend.

Saturday: 84°
Sunday: 87°

Models indicate that scattered showers and storms are still likely on Saturday. If you have outdoor plans for Saturday, you may want to consider having an indoor backup plan.

Any showers or storms should be gone by late-morning Sunday.

Cool Weather Teaser:

If you’re over the humidity, here’s something to look forward to. Tuesday of next week will feature lower humidity and highs in the low to mid 70s!
