Romona's Kids: Program teaches life lessons to 75 area girls

DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Bullying is an issue 80 percent of girls face at some point while they're growing up. But thanks to a great new program, local girls are learning to take the power away from the bully.

The "Saving Our Cinderellas" program, sponsored by MYCOM, is teaching life lessons to 75 girls from three Cleveland and East Cleveland schools. They meet to talk about bullying, date abuse, hate crimes, and school violence.

They also have acting, singing, and dance workshops, featuring celebrities like American Idol finalist Trenyce Cobbins and actress Nia Holloway from Disney's Lion King.
