PHILADELPHIA, PA (WOIO) - With the 2nd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft the Chicago Bears drafted Mitchell Trubisky. The former Mentor High School quarterback also played QB at University of North Carolina.
There was a watch party in Mentor for the draft tonight, Trubisky had a message for all his fans.
"Love you guys, appreciate your support," Trubisky said.
The former Mentor High quarterback said he is going to be the hardest working player in the Bears locker room.
"Show my teammates how much I care, I love this game," Trubisky said.
Marshon Lattimore who attended Glenville High School and Ohio State University was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the draft.
There was a party in Glenville for Lattimore, he says he has a great support system.
"It's possible to make this come true," Lattimore said.
Lattimore said in the press conference on Thursday he almost quit football in high school. He had a message for all the kids in the Glenville.
"Stick at it, stay true to it and things can happen," Lattimore said.
