AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Akron police are investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday night at Sam's Emporium pawn shop, located at 468 East Exchange Street.
Police say the incident was reported at approximately 8 p.m. Three men went into the store and demanded money from the store employee. Two of the suspects used a small axe to smash the jewelry cases.
One of the suspects shot the 50-year-old employee in the left arm during the robbery. The victim was transported to Akron General Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
Police are looking for three male suspects and a female that drove a silver Chevy Impala get-a-way vehicle. The vehicle was recovered Friday morning just after 2 a.m., but police are still looking for the suspects.
- Suspect 1: White male, 20- to 25-years-old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs about 160 to 170 pounds. Has blonde, messy hair, a beard and moustache, and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray jogging pants, and black shoes. He has a birth mark or mole on the left side of his face.
- Suspect 2: Black male, 20- to 25-years-old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs about 140 to 150 pounds. Was wearing a black mask, black-hooded sweatshirt with blue stripes, black pants, and black shoes.
- Suspect 3: Black male, 20- to 25-years-old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs about 170 pounds. Was wearing a black mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants. and black shoes.
- Suspect 4: Black female.
