LORAIN, OH (WOIO) - Gevonte Thomas has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the July 2 homicide of Keshawndrae Carter, according to Lorain police.
Thomas was arrested by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force when he arrived at the Lorain County Criminal Justice Center for sentencing on another case.
Carter was shot and killed shortly after leaving church. The 19-year-old had stopped, on his way home, to ask someone if they would like to attend a family barbecue.
Thomas is being held in the Lorain City Jail without bond. Bond will be set at his arraignment.
