CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Geauga Lake closed its gates Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 for good -- but this commercial from the late 80s shows the amusement park at its prime.

The commercial was broadcast in 1989. During that time, park rides included the Big Dipper, Raging Wolf Bobs,Gold rush, Muzek Express, Gold rush, Sky Glide, Til-A-Whirl, Rotor and more. Regular admission in 1989 for anyone 4 and older was $12.95 a person. After 5 p.m., general admission dropped to $8.50.

The Geauga Lake property remains abandoned since it closed 10 years ago.

Cedar Fair, the current owners, have a new mixed-use vision for the property with retail and housing.

Meijer, a supercenter chain, wants to move into the space. Liberty Ford in Solon is also looking to move into the Aurora property.
