DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - It's going to be quite the weekend at Progressive Field.
The Indians welcome the Toronto Blue Jays, and the team says the first two games of the home stand, Friday and Saturday, have become sellouts.
So far this season, sellouts have been hosted at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario on the following dates: April 11 against the White Sox, July 4 against the Padres, and July 8 against the Tigers.
According to baseball-reference.com, the per-game attendance average in Cleveland this season is 23,230. Progressive Field's capacity is a little more than 35,000 fans.
That puts Cleveland ahead of Miami, Oakland, Chicago (White Sox), and Tampa Bay, according to that same site.
The Indians (48-45) hold a slim first place lead in the American League Central.
