LAGRANGE TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - Lorain County deputies say there was an attempted abduction this week in Lagrange Township.

It happened Friday around 5:30 p.m. while two sisters, ages 4 and 7, played in the driveway of a home in the 40000 block of Whitney Road. Authorities say a black male driving a silver four-door sedan pulled into the driveway and offered the girls candy. When they refused, authorities said the man got out of his car and grabbed the 4-year-old.

The man reportedly drove away when the girl's brother came out of the house and began yelling.

The offender is said to have an average height and thick build, and may possibly be in his mid-20s or early 30s. Authorities said he was wearing a red shirt and blue shorts at the time of the incident.

The exact make and model of the car are unknown. A witness said it may have been a Honda.

No one has been taken into custody at this time. Those with information on this apparent abduction attempt should call 440-329-3710.
