Parma jewelry robbery: Police say man wearing wig, surgical mask brandished gun

PARMA, OH (WOIO) - The Parma Police Department is seeking the public's assistance identifying and locating a man authorities say robbed a Parma jewelry store Friday afternoon.

At about 3:27 p.m., Parma police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Gustave Julian Jewelers, located at 7432 State Road. Employees later told police a man walked into the jewelry store, brandished a dark colored handgun, and approached employees who were behind the jewelry counter. They said the man demanded money.

After receiving an unspecified amount of money, the man fled the store, police said.

He was seen getting into a dark gray late 1990s or early 2000s Ford Taurus, with an Ohio temporary tag and damage to the left rear side of the car.

The suspect was described as a black man wearing a red sweatshirt, dark pants, dark shoes, a wig, a surgical mask, and gloves. Anyone with information is asked to call the Parma Police Department at 440-885-1234.
