DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Austin Jackson made quite possibly the catch of the year Tuesday night in Boston.
With the Indians up 7-5 in the bottom of the fifth, Jackson raced to chase down a long drive to center. His efforts took him over the wall in dramatic fashion, and, well, you can see for yourself below just how it all played out:
If an outfielder catches a home run ball and then falls over the fence, it counts as an out.
Jackson was able to hold on to the ball Tuesday.
If he had dropped it after going over the fence, it would have counted as a homer.
No one was on base at the time of Jackson's incredible catch. If there had been runners on, they would have been allowed to advance one bag after the snag, as Jackson had exited the field of play.
