LORAIN COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - Friends and family members are having to deal with the burden of laying a 3-year-old girl to rest after she was found unresponsive in a Lorain County pond on Tuesday.
A GoFundMe account has been set up for young Zandra Gut. The girl managed to get out of her house on Tuesday and drowned in a pond at the back of the property on Gore Orphanage Road in Henrietta Township.
Lorain County deputies found the girl in the pond and immediately attempted CPR. She was taken to Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin, where she was eventually pronounced deceased.
The GoFundMe page is seeking $7,000 to assist with funeral expenses. As of Wednesday morning, just over $400 have been raised.
The Lorain County Sheriff's and Coroner's Office are continuing their investigation.
