CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - After spending a week in the hospital, the man shot while working at a Cleveland Dollar General is home recovering.
The assault happened July 24 at store on Miles Road. Police say Shawnterrian Robinson, 19, shot Erin Henighan in the chest during a robbery.
Now, the victim and his family have a message for the good Samaritans who they say came to Erin's aid until EMS arrived, helping save his life. She wants to express her gratitude to them.
"I want to thank the women who were there at the store because without them no telling what would have happened. They were there at the time, applied pressure to his wound," said the victim's sister Erica Henighan.
Erin was released from the hospital on Aug. 1.
Robinson was arrested a few hours after the incident, but two more suspects remain on the run. He is charged with aggravated robbery and felonious assault.
The incident remains under investigation. If you have any information concerning the robbery/shooting give police a call.
