CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A Cleveland Heights restaurant helped fulfill a dying woman's wish: one more mocha milkshake.
Tommy's Restaurant in Coventry, which is known for it's milkshakes, shipped a shake 375 miles to Arlington, Va. to honor a wish from Emily Pomeranz in hospice care.
According to a social media post from Emily's friend, 50-year-old Emily grew up in Cleveland Heights. She was recently moved to hospice care and is suffering from pancreatic cancer, which was Emily's third bout with cancer.
When Emily's friend visited her in hospice, he asked her if she needed anything. The first thing she asked for was a Cleveland Indians hat. Her second request was a little more difficult to fulfill, but she wanted one last mocha milkshake from Tommy's Restaurant.
After coordinating with the restaurant's owner, the milkshake was shipped halfway across the country via UPS.
According to the post, Emily was excited and grateful for the milkshake. She talked about the story for days to come.
Tragically, Emily passed away at the end of July.
