LORAIN COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - Taxpayers are voicing their opposition to the sales tax increase in Lorain County.
A committee filed petitions on Aug. 8 with nearly 12,000 signatures. To place the repeal on the General Election Ballot in November, 7,782 valid signatures are required.
The Lorain County Commissioners decided to approve a 0.25 percent sales tax increase last December. The sales tax rates went from 6.5 percent to 6.75 percent.
