The Cleveland Browns will play the New Orleans Saints at FirstEnergy Stadium in the first preseason game of the year on Aug. 10. The team is coming off of a 1-15 season.
Starting jobs are on the line during the preseason, the Browns will also have to cut players the next couple of weeks to get to a 53-man roster.
Things to watch for in the game:
The entire offseason fans have been wondering who will be the starting quarterback. Brock Osweiler will get the start on Thursday, but he threw more interceptions than touchdowns last year.
Cody Kessler is in his second season with the team. He had a QB rating of 92.3, but only played in nine games in 2016.
The Browns also drafted a quarterback in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. DeShone Kizer will be playing with the third team vs. the Saints.
The first overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft is 6'5", 262 lbs, he had 31 sacks, 47 tackles for a loss and seven forced fumbles in his 34 games in his college career at Texas A&M.
Garrett and ten-time NFL Pro Bowler Joe Thomas have been matched up against each other in drills during training camp.
New Offensive Line
The offensive line should be better for the Browns as they added J.C. Tretter and Kevin Zeitler. Tretter started seven games at guard in 2016 with the Green Bay Packers.
Zeitler has been a starting guard with the Bengals the past five seasons.
Kenny Britt will most likely be the top wide receiver option for the Browns offense. Last year the 28-year-old caught 68 balls for 1002 yards and five touchdowns for the Los Angeles Rams.
Coleman said he is more comfortable with the playbook. In ten games with the Browns last year Coleman caught 33 balls for 413 yards and three touchdowns.
He was the Browns first round pick in 2016.
Will the two-time Pro Bowl corner bounce back? Haden has missed 14 games the past two seasons due to injury.
Peppers who was drafted as a safety for the Browns will play with the second team vs. the Saints. He will be the team's starting kick returner and punt returner vs. the Saints.
