In Maple Heights, a 100-year-old woman has died, after firefighters rescued her from her burning home Thursday morning.
According to the Maple Heights firefighters, crews responded to the home in the 15000 block of James Avenue around 6 a.m.
Sophia Lingro was found on the second-floor of the home. She died at Marymount Hospital.
A neighbor told Cleveland 19 News Lingro would have turned 101-years-old on March 8.
Firefighters from several surrounding departments responded for mutual aid.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by both Maple Heights firefighters and the State Fire Marshall's office.
