BEREA, Ohio (AP) - The Browns opened the second round of the NFL draft by addressing the gigantic hole left by Joe Thomas.
With the No. 33 overall pick, Cleveland selected left tackle Austin Corbett from Nevada, a walk-on who became a four-year starter at the school. He's a friend of Browns guard Joel Bitonio and could soon play alongside him.
Corbett, who can also play guard, did not allow a sack in conference games. He could help fill the void left by the retirement of Thomas, a 10-time Pro Bowl left tackle. Corbett started 49 games during four seasons in college.
Cleveland then used the No. 35 pick on Georgia running back Nick Chubb. The 227-pounder rushed for 1,345 yards and 15 touchdowns last season.
Chubb was limited to just six games in 2015 because of a knee injury.
The Browns entered Friday with three second-round picks.
