The team will retire the Akron legend’s number, serve "G.O.A.T. Burgers" throughout the ballpark and offer discount ticket prices.
The Rubberducks will be the first profesional team to retire James' number; the iconic digits will appear on Canal Park’s outfield wall.
The front office couldn't be more excited to honor the hometown kid.
“LeBron James’ greatness on the basketball court is unquestioned, but his commitment to his hometown of Akron is what really makes him a ‘legend,’” said RubberDucks General Manager Jim Pfander.
“We felt there was no better way to honor someone who has had such a positive impact than retiring his number in Canal Park for fans to see for generations.”
To honor James taking the Cavs to five NBA Finals appearances, the team is offering $5 tickets for fans who purchase tickets at the box-office wearing a James’ t-shirt or jersey.
The RubberDucks will donate $1 to the LeBron James Family Foundation for each ticket purchased.
The newly introduced G.O.A.T. burger is a half-pound burger that will have two steak burger patties, topped with whipped goat cheese, apple cider bacon jam, frizzled onions, and blackberry barbeque sauce. Price: $12
The team will also offer The Screamer, its famous ice cream sundae made up of 21 scoops of ice cream on top of a brownie base and finished off with chocolate syrup, bananas, whip cream, sprinkles and maraschino cherries. Price: $23
