Cleveland 19 ushering in diverse mix of CW hit shows (editorial)

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - It's all happening very fast, so I want to make sure everyone knows. Our own CLE43 is now becoming the CW affiliate in Cleveland.

With that, a name change for the station, too, which becomes CW43.

We're excited to become a CW affiliate for many different reasons. Some of its shows, like The Flash and Riverdale are some of the hottest programs on television right now.

It's also a network aimed at diversity. According to the ratings, Jane the Virgin is the most popular network show among Hispanic viewers, and Black Lightning is the third most popular show among African-American viewers.

The man who created the Black Lightning comic book character back in the 70's was Clevelander Tony Isabella.

As a broadcaster, and the holder of an FCC license, we have an obligation to connect with as wide and diverse a group of people as possible.

We believe with CBS and CW we do now have the absolute best group of programs that can be enjoyed by the most people in the area.

We hope you check out all the new shows on the new CW43, and of course, we'll keep you updated on all the day's news and breaking weather throughout the day, just like we always have.

Now, how do I get one of those Flash suits?
