PERRY TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - The United States Marshals Office for the Northern District of Ohio said they have arrested a man wanted for murder of an infant.
Investigators said 22-year-old Justin Tyler Layne was wanted by the Perry Township Police Department for murder and child endangering.
US Marshal Peter Elliott said the warrant was issued for the murder of his girlfriend's infant child.
The child's injuries determined to be consistent with child abuse, according to the US Marshals.
Layne was arrested at his mom's house on Aurora Street in Canton on Thursday.
"This is a terrible case, the murder of an infant. Our Task Force moved quickly to make the arrest on this case and work for justice for the innocent victim," Elliott said in a statement.
