Corey Kluber couldn't beat the Yankees, but Shane Bieber did.
The Indians rookie delivered Friday night, limiting the New York Yankees to 3 earned runs in 7 innings, as the Tribe prevailed 6-5 at a sold-out Progressive Field.
Bieber struck out 6 and walked 2, improving his record to 5-1.
The victory evened the 4-game series at one apiece. New York had beaten Cleveland's ace, Kluber, in the opener Thursday.
Jose Ramirez and Michael Brantley drove in 2 runs apiece for the Indians.
Cody Allen allowed a solo HR in the 9th to Giancarlo Stanton but also got a huge double play ball from Miguel Andujar to nail down his 19th save.
Game 3 of the series is Saturday at 7:15 pm. Mike Clevinger will face former Tribe ace CC Sabathia.
