Bieber brilliant but Tribe lose in Chicago 1-0

Shane Bieber was brilliant for the Cleveland Indians, but it wasn't enough.

The Tribe rookie pitched 6.2 scoreless innings, striking out 8, but Daniel Palka's 9th-inning homer won it for the White Sox, who blanked the Indians 1-0 Friday night in Chicago.

Neil Ramirez served up the home run and took the loss.

Carlos Rodon of the White Sox shut down the Tribe on 4 hits over 8 scoreless innings. He struck out five and lowered his season ERA to 2.61.

Yonder Alonso had 2 of Cleveland's 5 hits.

Sox reliever Jace Fry got the win in relief.
