Power restored to Cleveland's West Side

Thousands without power in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - ***Update 2:27 p.m. 8/12/18***

Cleveland Public Power says all power to Cleveland's West Side should have been restored completely by 1:52 a.m. on Sunday.

***Update 10:58 p.m. 8/11/18***

Cleveland Public Power said the entire west side of Cleveland is without power.

Officials said CPP is fed power by CEI and this evening CEI's main power line went down, this line feeds the entire west side.

The line from CEI Clinton to Ridge Road is energized, according to CPP. Crews are working to restore customers served by the Ridge Road substation, according CPP.

According to CPP, CEI has told them they have crews working on the issue to get the power restored.

At this time CPP said they do not know when power will be restored.

More than 20,000 people are impacted by this outage, according to CPP.

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is on external power at the moment.
