Cleveland Homicide Unit investigating shooting on Euclid Avenue

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Cleveland Police Department said the homicide unit is investigating a shooting on Euclid Avenue.

Police said officers responded to the 12800 block of Euclid Avenue around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday for a reports of shots fired.

The scene was near the area of Roxbury Road and Euclid Avenue.

Investigators said when officers got to the scene they found out the victim, Sir Rell Sizemore, was transported by someone to University Hospitals.

Authorities said during the investigation they learned Sizemore, 28, and another man were having a conversation at which point the victim punched the man who responded by shooting the victim multiple times.

The suspect is also accused of shooting at a different man but did not hit him, according to police.

Sizemore died at the hospital.

The shooting is still under investigation.
