MENTOR, OH (WOIO) - Crews from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources resumed their search efforts Monday morning for a man that went missing in Lake Erie at the Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve and Marina.
According to an ODNR spokesperson, crews launched at 11 a.m. with their side-scan sonar boat.
The man, who has been identified as 46-year-old Mentor resident Robert Allen, was in a boat when he jumped into the water for a swim near the lagoons Saturday night, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
Allen was reportedly wearing a life-jacket when he jumped into the water, but a person in the boat with Allen at the time lost sight of him.
The Mentor Police Department, Lake County Sheriff's Office, and a helicopter from the U.S. Coast Guard assisted with the search on Sunday afternoon before being called off.
