CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Family and friends of a mother of four gunned down over the weekend are asking for the community's support during this difficult time.
They gathered outside Club X on Lakeside in Cleveland, where 29-year-old Theresa Goldwin was shot early Saturday morning. Seven others were shot but survived.
The victim's cousin, Katrina Mardis, also 29, says Goldwin invited her to Club X, and it could've been her children left without their mother.
Instead, Goldwin's children, ages 11, eight, six, and eight-months will never see their mother again.
Mardis says, "If that doesn't break anybody's heart, then I don't know what kind of heart they have."
Goldwin's father, Turan Baisden, spoke out with a strong message saying, "Until we put our foot down, it's never going to stop. They're angry and they're lashing out in the wrong way and they're killing them."
Baisden is asking parents to talk to their children about anything that's troubling them
Goldwin's mother, Tracey Eagleeye, says, "Theresa would be proud of their commitment to protect other families from feeling this unbearable pain."
The family has set up a Go Fund Me page to help support Goldwin's four kids and to help cover funeral costs.
