Northeast Ohio auto repair chain sold

CLEVELAND - A northeast Ohio auto repair chain is being acquired by a rival.

A news release says ProCare Automotive Service Solutions filed for bankruptcy protection on Monday as part of a sale to Monro Muffler Brake.

Monro says it's paying $14 million in cash and providing $4 million in financing while ProCare's operations are in bankruptcy.

ProCare is based in Independence, about 11 miles south of Cleveland.

In the announcement, Monro says ProCare operates more than 80 auto service centers in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Kentucky. There are no plans to close any of them.

Monro is based in Rochester, New York.
