Former Ohio judge takes over TV's 'Divorce Court'

LOS ANGELES - A new judge is donning the "Divorce Court" robes.

Lynn Toler is an attorney who served as an elected judge for Cleveland Heights Municipal Court in Ohio. She's taking over the syndicated series from seven-season incumbent Mablean Ephriam.

Toler will step in when the show returns for its eighth season in the fall.

She already has TV courtroom experience: Toler left the bench in 2001 after being picked to act as judge on another syndicated court show, "Power of Attorney."

She's a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. In her eight-year tenure as an Ohio judge, she presided over cases involving small-claims disputes, domestic violence, negligent homicide, assault and stalking.
