Abusive priest to be housed at Missouri facility

WICHITA, Kan. - A former Catholic priest who had retired to the Cleveland area must now spend the rest of his life at a Missouri facility for abusive priests.

Robert Larson was released last week from a Kansas prison where he served five years for molesting three altar boys and a fourth young man in Kansas during the 1980s. Under an agreement his attorney reached with the Kansas attorney general, the 76-year-old Larson is headed to the St. John Vianney Renewal Center near Dittmer, Mo.

A spokesman for the attorney general says Larson will receive treatment similar to what sexual predators get.

Larson pleaded guilty to the abuse charges in 2001. He was was retired and living in Willoughby, Ohio, when the charges were brought against him.
