Cleveland horse patrols return, partly

CLEVELAND - Some familiar faces have returned to the Cleveland scene.

The city's mounted police patrol has returned with a sergeant and two mounted officers. The city's eight police horses were furloughed two years ago because of budget cuts.

The horses were kept in city stables to await better financial times.

The return of the mounted patrol was announced Wednesday along with news of a 40-member downtown crew that will clean up litter and graffiti and direct lost tourists.
