CLEVELAND - Shots were fired during an attempted bank robbery on Cleveland's east side Wednesday morning, 19 Action News reported.
A suspected would-be thief entered the U.S. Bank branch located at 4100 Woodland Avenue just before 10 a.m.
The man apparently either said that he was carrying a gun or actually showed a weapon.
An off-duty police officer who was working security at the bank fired multiple shots, but the suspect was able to escape. A manhunt is currently underway.
No injuries were known to have been suffered during the episode, and it is not yet clear whether the suspect successfully pulled off the heist.
