U.S. Suffers More Casualties of War

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - At least 19 people, including a U-S soldier, have died in violence in Iraq today as Shiites gather for a major religious commemoration. The military says the U-S soldier who died was with a unit that's in a province that has been the stronghold of the Sunni Arab insurgency.

At least 2,605 members of the U.S. military have died since the Iraq war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
