Judge Denies Maurice Clarett's Request for a Poll

Columbus, OH - A Franklin County judge says the county doesn't have to pay for a poll to determine if former OSU football star Maurice Clarett can get a fair trial in Columbus.

The judge says he'll be willing to move the trial if it becomes clear during jury selection Clarett can't get a fair trial.

Clarett is currently behind bars - awaiting trial on charges accusing him of robbing two people on New Year's Day.

His lawyers asked the county last week to conduct and pay for a poll - saying intense media scrutiny of the case and of Clarett's unrelated arrest last month would make it difficult to seat an impartial jury.
