Committee Tries To Save School Building

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio - A lawsuit has been filed in an effort to save Kirk Middle School, 19/43 News reported.

People with the Save Kirk Committee said that the mayor of East Cleveland did not have the right to order a demolition permit for the 71-year-old landmark.

The building was shut down and the school's students were put in other area schools after deadly black mold was discovered in the Kirk building.

The Save Kirk Committee would rather see the school renovated and re-opened.
