CLEVELAND – Because of the recent anthrax scares, fewer people are lining up to help out the post office this holiday season, 19/43 News reported.
The main post office in Cleveland normally hires 400-500 people for the holidays, but this year, it's having trouble filling all of the slots.
Post office officials are trying to get the word out that post offices are definitely safe and secure places to work.
"We're going to continue to have our guard up," local U.S. Postal Service spokesman Mark Reynolds said. "We're going to keep looking at the mail closely. We're going to keep responding promptly and appropriately to anything that looks remotely suspicious."
