NEW YORK (AP) - Light rain is in the forecast for New York City, where last night's National League Championship Series opener between the Mets and Cardinals was postponed 24 hours by bad weather. That means the two teams lose a travel day, with Game Two now scheduled for tomorrow and Game Three on Saturday in St. Louis.
Both managers are opting to go with their scheduled Game One starters. It's a lefty-righty matchup, with 15-and-7 southpaw Tom Glavine (GLA'-vihn) taking the mound for the Mets against 8-and-14 Jeff Weaver.
Two players whose status was in doubt for the first game of the best-of-seven pennant showdown were in last night's starting lineups.
