World Series: Tigers vs Cardinals

Detroit, MI - The stage is finally set for the World Series - the Detroit Tigers will take on the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Cards don't have much time to celebrate their National League pennant. They're moving from the Big Apple to the Motor City following last night's 3-to-1 win over the New York Mets in Game Seven of the NL Championship Series. The Redbirds open World Series play tomorrow night in Detroit. The Tigers haven't played since wrapping up an A-L-C-S sweep of Oakland last Saturday. And that brings up the age-old question: will the Tigers be rested or rusty? Stay tuned.

Neither manager has revealed the name of his starting pitcher for Game One.

We do know that former Tigers greats Al Kaline and Willie Horton will accompany club owner Mike Ilitch in throwing out tomorrow night's ceremonial first pitch.
