Game 5: Do or Die for Detroit

St. Louis - Another wet night on tap for Game 5 in St. Louis.

The forecast calling for a 100% of rain today and tonight. That means the fifth game of the World Series could be postponed and pushed back another day. The way things are going for the Detroit Tigers, they might just want the break.

The Cardinals took a three games to one lead in the best of seven series with a 5-to-4 win last night. Shortstop David Eckstein won the game for the Cards with a run-scoring double in the eighth inning. The Tigers had tied the game in the top of the frame.

St. Louis is looking to put the finishing touches on its first World Series victory in 24 years and history is on the Cardinals side. Thirty-two of the 38 teams that won a Game Four to take a 3-to-1 lead have gone on to win the World Series.

Tonight's pitching match has rookie Justin Verlander going for the Tigers against Jeff Weaver.
