CLEVELAND - Police are searching for answers after the dead bodies of a Cleveland man and his wife were found several blocks apart on Tuesday morning, 19/43 News reported.
The couple's children will now grow up without their mother and father.
Instead of heading off to school, two of the couple's four children spent time in the back of a police cruiser as detectives rustled through their belongings and searched their home.
The house on West 38th Street, once a place where the children laughed and played, is now considered a crime scene.
"It makes me very scared," neighbor Lori Thomas said. "It makes me very sad. The family is very quiet."
It was early in the morning when the lifeless body of the children's mother -- a 34-year old woman -- was found stabbed to death inside the family house.
At virtually the same time, just blocks away, detectives combed an area where a man, believed to be the dead woman's husband, was discovered.
Why he jumped from a building to his death remains a mystery -- a mystery that's created shock and sadness for the people in the neighborhood where the couple had called home.
"They're a good family," neighbor Sandra Nazarro said. "I never heard a fight or anything going on. They are very good kids. They're never outside. They're a very good family."
While there are still many unanswered questions about what happened, detectives said they believe that it could be a murder-suicide.
