Judge Clears Way For School Building Demolition

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio - A Cuyahoga County judge has cleared the way for the demolition of an East Cleveland school, 19/43 News reported.

Administrators said that workers could begin tearing down Kirk Middle School as early as next week.

The school has been closed since the start of the school year because of concerns over the dilapidated condition of the building.

Potentially toxic mold and exposed asbestos were also found in the school.

Supporters who believe that the school has historic status, however, plan to continue to fight to save the school.
