Student Sentenced For Sending E-Mail Threat

KIRTLAND, Ohio - A Kirtland High School student will spend nine months in a juvenile detention center for an e-mail threat that he made against the school, 19/43 News reported.

The 16-year-old was sentenced for scaring students with an e-mail warning that said he would bring "weapons of mass destruction" to school on Halloween.

The boy pleaded guilty to inducing panic and telecommunications harassment, saying that he meant no serious harm and that he sent the threat as a way to get a day off from school.
