Patriotic Student, School District Reach Agreement

FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio - A Fairview Park High School student and the school district have reached an agreement in a federal lawsuit, 19/43 News reported.

Aaron Petitt filed the lawsuit after he was suspended from school for putting a patriotic poster on his locker.

Although the school district did not admit to violating Petitt's rights, it did acknowledge a previous decision to reverse the suspension.

The district will also pay Petitt $2,000, it will pay $1,000 to his parents and $20,000 in legal fees.
