Local Teamster To Get UPS Job Back

CANTON, Ohio - A Canton-area teamster will be reinstated to his job at UPS after he was fired last week for wearing a red, white and blue ribbon, 19/43 News reported.

Joe Gill, a 28-year employee, was fired Thursday for adding a red, white and blue ribbon to his uniform. Doing so is against company code.

Gill was asked to take the ribbon off, but he refused.

UPS said that they supplied a patriotic pin for workers to wear, and that the dress code is clear.

When Gill's coworkers voted to strike if the situation wasn't resolved, however, the company decided to give Gill his job back.
