Accused Baby Killer Wasn't Ready For Fatherhood

CLEVELAND (AP) - A Cleveland police detective said that a 13-year-old boy accused of killing his 8-week-old daughter told him: "I wasn't ready to be a father."

Det. Gary Garisek testified on Monday during a hearing in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court.

The baby was beaten to death last April.

Garisek said that Brandon Miller (hands pictured in cuffs, above) told him that he became frustrated when his daughter, Diamond, wouldn't stop crying. He said that he began punching the baby on the head, stomach and chest.

Miller is charged with a delinquency count of murder. He cannot be tried as an adult because he was not 14 at the time of the baby's death.
