Republic Steel Reaches Agreement With Workers

AKRON, Ohio - Another northeast Ohio steel company has made some changes that could help its bankruptcy restructuring, 19/43 News reported.

Akron-based Republic Technologies International has reached a tentative agreement with its workers that should help lower costs and guarantee financing.

Details of the agreement were not released, but the situation appears to be better than it was last month, when the company asked a judge if it could delay worker bonuses and wage increases to help keep the company running.

The new agreement still has to be voted on by the union employees.
