Kent State Coach Inks 4-Year Deal

KENT, Ohio (AP) - Kent State coach Doug Martin has signed a four-year contract today after leading the Golden Flashes to a second-place finish in Mid-American Conference East Division.

Kent State finished the season six and six with a five and three record in the MAC after winning only one game the year before.

Martin is in his third season at Kent State. He had two years left on his original contract and is now under contract through the 2010 season.

Kent State's five straight wins in September and October had them in contention for the conference title for the first time in years.
