AMELIA, Ohio (AP) - Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Deltha O'Neal was charged with driving while intoxicated early this morning after being stopped at a traffic checkpoint.
State Highway Patrol Sergeant Kevin Long says O'Neal had a blood-alcohol level of point-one-zero, above Ohio's legal limit of point-oh-eight. O'Neal was arrested, processed at the scene then released after being ordered to appear in Clermont County Municipal Court on December 12th.
The patrol says O'Neal was alone in the car when he approached the checkpoint in Pierce Township, about 20 miles east of Cincinnati.
Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said he was unaware of the arrest and that the team doesn't comment on unresolved charges against players.
O'Neal is the eighth Bengals player arrested this year on various charges.
